This Weekend in Somerville: Boston Terror-Thon, Who Are You Wearing?

The HONK! Festival, RadioBDC Live on the Square, Aussie music and wine, a lineup of classic horror films and a series of arts events are happening in Somerville this weekend.

HONK! and RadioBDC Live on the Square
HONK!, featuring tons of bands from around the world, will be in Davis Square all weekend, and RadioBDC celebrates its first anniversary with a live concert in Union Square on Sunday.

Boston Terror-Thon
Somerville Theatre is screening nine classic horror films on Saturday, including favorites like "Planet of the Apes" and the 1920 silent film, "Cabinet of Dr. Caligari," which will be accompanied by live music. All the movies are archival 35mm prints, and they'll be projected on the big screen. There will also be prizes and other fun happenings. It kicks off a series of horror films that will be shown until Halloween.

Who Are You Wearing? An Outdoor Exhibition of Street Fashion Paintings

Back in May, artist Danielle Festa had a red-carpet photo shoot in Union Square, capturing the everyday fashion choices of regular folks in the square. On Saturday, Festa will be displaying, outdoors, a series of paintings she created based on those photos. The paintings will be on display from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Union Square Plaza. Cantina La Mexicana and Sweet Ginger will provide hor d'oeuvres.

Aussie Music and Wine
Mark Wilkinson, a top Australian musician, will perform at The Center for Arts at the Armory Saturday at 8 p.m. The performance will be accompanied by tastings of Australian and New Zealand wines from 90+ Cellars.

Electronic Music
You'll hear some experimental and electronic music at this series of solo performances. It's Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Washington Street Art Center.

Oktoberfest at the East End Grille
Enjoy live music, beer, German food and children's activities at this family friendly Oktoberfest at East End Grille, 118 Broadway. It starts Saturday at 11 a.m.

Joy Street Artists Present SatARTdays
More than 100 artists at the Joy Street Studios open their doors to visitors. It begins at 12 p.m. Saturday at 86 Joy St.

Saturday Local Artist Market
Those of you in Davis Square on Saturday for HONK! may want to step into The Burren for this artists' market. It's from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and it includes all sorts of art, including paintings, photography, jewelry, textiles, ceramics and more. The Burren, for those of you who haven't visited Davis Square since 1996, is at 247 Elm St.
