Somerville by Design: Davis Square Edition
The next step in the Somerville by Design process for Davis Square, in which the public provides thoughts, advice, opinions and ideas about the future of Davis Square, is on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at The Center for Arts at the Armory.

Ward 7 ResiStat
The Ward 7 ResiStat neighborhood meeting takes place Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the West Somerville Neighborhood School, 177 Powderhouse Blvd.

Dog Complaint Hearing
The Somerville Police Department is holding a public hearing to determine if Rocco, a dog who lives at 38 Calvin St., is dangerous or a nuisance. The public hearing takes place Thursday at 9 a.m. at the police station, 220 Washington St.

A Quiet Revolution: The Veil's Resurgence, from the Middle East to America
Leila Ahmed, a Harvard Divinity School professor, will discuss her book, which addresses why modern Muslim women, unlike their counterparts from the middle of the 20th century, wear veils. The talk is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Somerville Public Library.

Creative Winter Floral Arrangements
The Somerville Garden Club will provide advice on creating floral arrangements for Thanksgiving, Christmas and winter. The lecture is Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Tufts Administration Building, 167 Holland St.
