Those are some of the tidbits of financial information found in Somerville's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which was recently posted online.

The report, dealing with fiscal year 2012, takes a look at the city's finances.

Interested residents can dig into information about they city's debt, revenues and expenditures.

There's also interesting data about life in Somerville.

For instance, there's been a decrease in fires in Somerville. In 2003 there were 89 structure and car fires. In 2012 there were 41.

In 2012 there were 2,150 dog licenses on record, down from 2,211 in 2003.

As for parking tickets: 152,381 were issued in 2012. That was down from 223,154 in 2007 (the numbers don't go back to 2003).

In an announcement about the financial report, Somerville's first, Mayor Joseph Curtatone said it was part of an effort to increase transparency and accountability in government.

He also said the report could benefit Somerville's bond rating.
