Police Search for Missing Man

Ralph Hergert, 66, suffers from memory problems and was last seen in Kendall Square.

The Somerville Police Department Monday morning was still looking for a local resident who went missing Sunday evening, according to Somerville police.

Ralph Hergert, 66, who suffers from memory problems, went missing at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, according to police. He lives at 9 St. James Ave., which is off Elm Street between Davis and Porter squares.

Deputy Chief Paul Upton of the Somerville Police Department said in an email Hergert was last seen in Kendall Square Sunday night.

Sunday night, police released an announcement seeking the public's help in finding Hergert. Here's what the announcement says:

"Mr. Hergert suffers from memory related medical issues.  He was last seen Sunday, June 30th at about 5:30 p.m. when he went out for a walk.  He is described as 5 feet 9  inches tall, 200 lbs. brown and grey hair, blue eyes, last seen wearing red and navy blue plaid short sleeve shirt, grey shorts and sandals.  He usually walks on main streets (Somerville, Cambridge, Medford) and may have headed to the Porter Square, Davis Square or Ball Square area.  He also wears a bracelet that advises that he has memory issues.
