Body of Man Found Behind Norwood Middle School Has Somerville Tie

Police are actively investigating the incident.

Police have identified the body found behind Norwood’s Coakley Middle School Wednesday evening as 66-year-old Vincent Lalli.

Lalli was reported missing to the Somerville Police Department earlier this week, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey and Norwood Police Chief William Brooks III.

Police identified Lalli through fingerprint analysis. He was last seen a week ago, according to a Thursday release from the district attorney’s office.

State and Norwood Police are actively investigating the incident, and anyone with information about Lalli’s recent activities is asked to contact State Police at 508-820-2121 or Norwood Police at 781-762-1212.

Earlier, authorities said they believe the body may have been killed at another location before being left behind the middle school.

Morrissey said the victim suffered “massive trauma.”
