Alleged OUI Accidents Damage Multiple Cars

Seven cars were damaged in two separate accidents, according to police reports.

Two recent car accidents in which drivers were allegedly operating under the influence led to the damage of seven cars, according to Somerville police reports.

On July 24, a Somerville resident, allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, smashed into a parked car on Ibbetson Street with such force that the parked car smashed into second car, which, in turn, smashed into a third car, one police report says.

Then, on July 28, another Somerville resident, allegedly driving under the influence of liquor, hit two cars on Central Street, according to another police report.

Kurt Muther, 30, of 21 Lowell St., was arrested in connection to the July 24 accident and charged with operating under the influence of drugs.

According to a police report, Muther was driving a 2008 Audi at about 9:15 p.m. when he hit a Toyota Camry, which careened into a Honda Civic, which spun around and crashed into a Honda Fit.

When police tried to question him, Muther was nodding off to sleep, according to the police report. The report says officers found him with a pill believed to be Oxycodone.

Linda Cunningham, 51, of 113 Heath St., was arrested in connection to the July 28 accident. She was charged with operating under the influence of liquor.

According to a police report, Cunningham crashed her Nissan Murano into a Dodge Durango and a Toyota Scion.

The report says Cunningham told police she'd been at the beach all day before having two drinks at China Delight.
