Summer Library Workshop Series: Dig into...Gardening!

Groundwork Somerville is offering a series of three FREE library workshops for kids at the Somerville Public Library branches this summer.  Each workshop fits into the nationwide 2013 Collaborative Summer Library Program theme: Dig into Reading!

The second workshop, Dig into...Gardening!, will take place at the West Branch Library at 40 College Ave on Thursday, July 25th from 11 am to noon.   This workshop takes kids into the world of a garden and outside the library to do some hands-on gardening themselves! They’ll learn how to water plants and keep them growing well, read from Jack’s Garden, and design their own garden.  They’ll also have the chance to taste some herbs and veggies fresh from a local garden.

Recommended for kids ages 5-7; workshops are all free and led by Groundwork Somerville Gardens Coordinator, Lee Dwyer.  Thanks to the Friends of the Somerville Public Library for generously funding this workshop series!
