Opening Date Set for Stop & Shop in West Somerville
The supermarket will open in the former site of Johnnie's Foodmaster.
A new Stop & Shop in West Somerville will open on June 21, according to an announcement from the supermarket chain.
The Stop & Shop, at 105 Alewife Brook Parkway, is opening at the former site of Johnnie's Foodmaster, another supermarket that closed in November of 2012.
Work crews have been busy preparing Stop & Shop for opening day.

The store will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday's, according to the announcement.
