ReplyI grew up in Somerville and moved out in 1981, there was never a problem with parking. Now you have Joe "Fees" Curtatone running things. He spoke at a Medford Chamber of Commerce lunch and he said he is all about raising fees in the city of Somerville. This guy isn't all that he is cracked up to be! Hate the player, hate the game!

Replymplo, I agree that the police should enforce the no driving ban, as the storm was howling the police would drive by cars coming at them on the opposite side of the road and do nothing, knowing they weren't supposed to be driving because of the ban! Give a few tickets out and word would get around for the next snow storm!

ReplyYears ago my wife and I would go to Lexington to a little italian restaurant on the main drag where you could byob. It was fantastic mainly because we were young parents and just getting out was a treat never mind having a affordable dinner with a bottle of wine. Somerville should do this, it is really a cool thing.

ReplyI agree with BOB- The rmv tracks everything from unpaid tickets to whatever else you owe the govt. They can certainly handle this little change, what's the big deal if you're a MA resident you should be able to prove it and if you can't you shouldn't be allowed to register a car-period.

Replymplo, with this storm you could really tell where the city line was with Medford, it went from black pavement in Somerville to 2 inches of snow in Medford. Sometimes the devil you know........

I can't believe nobody is commenting on the fact that Roche steps down from being Alderman and then gets appointed to a fat job with the city so he can pad his last three years for the higher pension. Look into it people!!
