When this weekend's storm, which dumped over 28 inches of snow on Somerville, came to an end, people poured out of their homes and gathered in Davis Square. Some were on skis, some had snowshoes, most walked—and everyone had a smile on his or her face. Hundreds gathered in Seven Hills Park to build snowmen and snow sculptures. I counted around 60 to 70 sculptures, but there may have been even more. Meanwhile, something similar was reportedly happening in Union Square, where Artisan's Asylum was expecting hundreds to participate in its Snow Day festivities, including the building of snow sculptures.
