Police: Man Kicked Off Bike, Beaten With Cane

The victim was taken to the hospital for head injuries and a possible broken rib, according to a police report.

A man suffered head injuries and possibly a broken rib after he was kicked off his bicycle and beaten with a cane, according to the victim's account detailed in a Somerville Police report. The alleged beating took place Oct. 20 at around 9 p.m. near the intersection of McGrath Highway and Bonair Street, according to the report. The victim told police that when he was riding his bicycle a man named "Sal," later identified as Salvatore Ferro, 44, of 20 Kennsington Ave., kicked the victim off his bike and continued to kick him once he was down. Man Kicks Wheelchair-Bound Nun, Says Police Report

The man allegedly told the officers who arrested him, "If I wasn't handcuffed, and I had a gun, I would [expletive] shoot both of you."

A Cambridge man was caught "giving chase to one of the nuns" at Somerville's Little Sisters of the Poor, according to a Somerville Police report. He then allegedly kicked the nun. Police responded to the Catholic senior housing facility at 190 Highland Ave. at about 4:20 p.m. on Oct. 17, according to the report. When officers got there, the main entrance was locked. As they waited for someone to buzz them in, the officers saw Shawn Bryon, 45, of Albany Street in Cambridge, chasing the wheelchair-bound nun, who was attempting to flee, the report says. Police: Man Attacks Neighbor With Weed Whacker, Then Gets Beaten Up

A woman was injured, a beer bottle was thrown, a weed whacker was wielded and punches were thrown after an argument about landscaping in Winter Hill.

Somerville Parking Officer Accused of Spitting On and 'Bumping' Pedestrian

The officer is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into an incident in which he allegedly bumped into a pedestrian with his car.

A Somerville parking enforcement officer is on paid administrative leave after allegedly spitting on and "bumping" a pedestrian with his car. The incident happened Aug. 14, at about 10:40 a.m., on Dane Street, according to a Somerville police report. According to the report, the victim told police he was crossing Dane Street in a crosswalk when the parking enforcement officer—Anthony Silvestri, 58, of 252 Medford St.—drove up Dane Street and stopped short so as not to hit the victim. Police: Man Accidentally Knifes Cousin After Restaurant Argument

The knife wielding happened at about 1 a.m. near the Paddock Restaurant, a police report says.

A man pulled a knife on his roommate at the Paddock Restaurant, chased the victim down the street, then accidentally cut his cousin with the knife, according to a Somerville police report. Police arrested 33-year-old Gladison Sandes, of 32 Radcliffe Rd., in connection to the incident, which took place early in the morning on July 7. According to the police report, Sandes and another man got into an argument at the restaurant at about 1 a.m. The report says the victim, who was going through a divorce, was staying with Sandes temporarily. During the argument, Sandes allegedly pulled a knife he uses for work and threatened the victim with it, ultimately chasing him down the street to Radcliffe Road. Man Allegedly Wields Baseball Bat in Lower Broadway Street Fight

Police responded to a late-night fracas involving about 7 people and arrested a Somerville man who is accused hitting one of the combatants with a metal baseball bat.

Somerville police arrested a Somerville man after a late-night street fight in which he allegedly hit one of the fighters with a baseball bat. The fight happened outside 182 Broadway, in East Somerville, at around 11:40 p.m. on April 30, according to a Somerville Police Department incident report. When police arrived on the scene, they encountered about 7 people yelling at each other, the report says. Witnesses said two members of the group had engaged in a fight, and that at some point a man hit one of the belligerents with a baseball bat before running into a nearby residence, according to the report.
