Learn Super-8 Filmmaking with SCATV

Classes begin July 7.

Ed. note: The following was sent by SCATV: Kicking it old school, Somerville Community Access Television (SCATV) is offering a summertime Super-8 filmmaking workshop. Get a solid working knowledge of this approachable film medium. Instructor Tara Merenda Nelson is a working artist with an impressive resume of screenings all over the world, including MoMA (NYC), The New York Film Festival, Boston's ICA and the Andy Warhol Museum. While production at SCATV centers on video, no video camera can truly replicate the unique look of film and this course will cover the basics of working with this special format. Note: The following is from "Greater Somerville": Last night on Greater Somerville, Destiny Augustine and Clennon King from the Elizabeth Peabody House spoke with host Joe Lynch about the organization, its founder and mission, programs it offers and the May 3, 2012 fundraiser and awards night. Twelve year old Destiny, who participates in many of the programs offered by the Elizabeth Peabody House, even offered to co-host future Greater Somerville programs.
