Somerville Sees Two Rollover Accidents in Less than 24 Hours

Two rollovers resulted in two injuries, according to the Somerville Fire Department.

The Somerville Fire Department responded to a rollover accident Friday morning at the intersection of Medford and Thurston streets, according to an email from Deputy Chief Charles Breen. The accident happened at around 10:08 a.m., and the driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Breen said. The story gets a bit crazy. According to the The Somerville News, the car flipped over after crashing into an unmarked police cruiser belonging to an officer working a detail in the area. It was the second rollover accident in less than 24 hours, according to Breen. At around 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, a car flipped over at 80 Webster Ave., resulting in one injury, Breen said in the email.

It's probably the worst area to be driving when it's dark. There are always accident/rollovers here. I guess it's still not reason enough to get those street lights working. I don't believe they've worked in 15 years.   more ›
