Police: Man Arrested for Laptop Theft, Is Pepper Sprayed Two Days Later

The man was also arrested once in May and once in June, according to police reports.

A 24-year-old man was arrested July 23 and accused of being involved in an afternoon laptop theft from a Ball Square computer business. He was arrested again two days later in East Somerville, pepper sprayed, and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The same man, Christopher Hicks, was also arrested on May 10 (and charged with violating an open container law and resisting arrest) and again on July 13 (when he was charged violating an open container law). In regard to the alleged laptop theft, according to a police report Hicks and another man walked into AngelTronics, a computer repair shop, at 735 Broadway at about 2 p.m. According to an account in the police report, Hicks and the other man asked the owner of AngelTronics…

PHOTO: Police Search for Convenience Store Robber

Police believe the same suspect robbed Somerville QuickStop on Highland Avenue on June 18 and Stop N Save Gas on Medford Street on June 23.

Somerville police are looking for a suspect they believe robbed two convenience stores this month. Police released a photo of the suspect, taken during the June 18 robbery of Somerville QuickStop at 219 Highland Ave. The robbery happened at about 10 p.m., according to an email from Deputy Chief Paul Upton of the Somerville Police Department. According to Upton's email, police believe the same suspect robbed Stop N Save Gas, at 360 Medford St., on June 23. Police ask that anyone with information about the robberies contact (617) 625-1212

Cab Driver Hospitalized After Saturday Morning Beating

Three suspects robbed a Boston cab driver early Saturday morning in Winter Hill, according to Somerville police. Two suspects were arrested.

Three suspects robbed and beat a Boston taxi driver early Saturday morning, sending the 31-year-old driver to the hospital, according to a statement from the Somerville Police Department and a police report. The beating took place a little after 1:30 a.m. on Evergreen Avenue in Winter Hill, the statement says. According to the police report, the cab driver picked up the three young men in the Government Center area of Boston. The driver told police that he drove the suspects to Evergreen Avenue, near the Winter Hill Community School, where they told him to stop. Police Identify Alleged Moped Bank Robber

John Mellone, of Somerville, is being held on $3,500 bail.

Note: The following was provided by the Malden Polce Department:  At approximately 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, officers of the Malden Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery at the US Alliance Credit Union 1032 Eastern Avenue. On arrival at the scene, it was learned that a white male entered the bank, showed a note to the teller and fled with an undetermined amount of cash. According to witnesses, the perpetrator fled on a motor scooter and was wearing a black and white motorcycle helmet. Officer Griffith, who was on patrol in the area, remembered seeing a motor scooter operating in the area approximately 15 minutes prior to the robbery. Det. Somerville, Malden Police Nab Bank Robber in Under Two Hours

The unidentified man allegedly robbed an unidentified credit union in Malden around 3 p.m.

An unidentified suspect was arrested in Somerville after allegedly robbing a Malden US Alliance Credit Union, according to police scanner transmissions.  No Malden police spokesmen were available for comment Wednesday afternoon, and no details about the suspect's identity or a confirmed site of the robbery were available by press time.  Police said the suspect fled from the scene in a blue moped, wearing all black, including a helmet with a black and white design and a grey hoodie, according to police scanner transmissions. Investigators later found two mopeds just blocks from the scene of the robbery, prompting police to contact local cab companies to see if anyone had been picked up near the site of the ditched vehicles. Jogger Robbed of $7 in Magoun Square

A teen asked for some change then swiped the jogger's whole wallet

When a jogger from Davis Square was making his way through Magoun Square Aug. 22, he bumped into three young men outside K-2 Market, according to a police report. The incident occurred a little before 9:30 p.m. One of the teenagers, carrying a bottle of alcohol, asked the jogger for some change, and the jogger ignored him. But the same teen followed the jogger across the street inside Oriental Chinese Restaurant, the police report says. There, the teen asked for change again, and this time the jogger unzipped his backpack and took out his wallet with the intention of giving the young man 50 cents, according to the report. Police Search for Robbery Suspect

Somerville police released a composite sketch of a suspect who robbed a 25-year-old woman on Lincoln Street Tuesday morning.

Somerville police are looking for a robbery suspect who stole a woman's purse Tuesday morning and fled toward Sullivan Square in Charlestown. Police provided a sketch of the suspect along with the following description of the incident: "Shortly before 8:00 a.m. [Tuesday morning], a 25 year old Somerville woman was putting a bag in the back seat of her SUV on Lincoln St at the corner of Lincoln Ave, when a male in his mid twenties approached her and ripped the Victim’s pocketbook form her right shoulder. The victim fought back but the assailant was able to get her handbag from her.  The suspect then fled eastery on Broadway toward Sullivan Square, Charlestown.   The Suspect is described as a white male, mid twenties  5-7/5-8 stocky/heavy …
