Police Arrest Alleged Bay State Avenue Package Thief
A Medford woman allegedly stole packages from at least three homes on Bay State Avenue.
Somerville police arrested a 34-year-old Medford woman on Jan. 15 and charged her larceny and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing packages on Bay State Avenue near Ball Square. According to a police report, a witness who called police saw Dina DiMartino, of 16 Willard Ave., Medford, and a man walking down Bay State Avenue at around 2:20 p.m., seemingly scouting the front porches of homes. Police caught up with DiMartino at the corner of Kidder and Bay State avenues, and she was carrying a large bag, according to the report. The report says police could see in the bag an Amazon package that came from a home on Bay State Avenue. It's pretty easy to grab those packages. Hard for us to be home for those deliveries. I worked one place in Winchester where UPS came down the street and put the packages on top of the mailboxes out in the street. I kep thinking this would be real easy of someone came down here and grabbed them all up. Guess we should all ahve video cameras on our houses now.   more ›
