Comedian Jimmy Tingle and WBUR's Monica Brady-Myerov Support Local Group

CASPAR—the Cambridge and Somerville Program for Alcoholism and Drug Rehabilitation—holds its spring event Thursday night.

Jimmy Tingle to Perform at Live at The Armory on Dec. 29 and 31

Tingle will also screen his film, "Jimmy Tingle's American Dream."

Comedian Jimmy Tingle will be in Somerville on Dec. 29 and Dec. 31 to perform live and discuss the high and low points of 2012, according to an announcement from The Center for Arts at the Armory. There will also be a screening of "Jimmy Tingle's American Dream," followed by a Q&A session with Tingle. The film features "commentary and conversation with some of America’s most iconic personalities and social critics, as well as family, friends and total strangers as they speak up and speak out on the American Dream," according to the announcement. The shows take place at The Center for Arts at the Armory at 8 p.m. You can get ticket and learn about VIP tickets, which include a meet-and-greet reception, at the Armory's website.

Jimmy Tingle Performs to Save St. Francis of Assisi in E. Cambridge, Near Somerville

Tingle will host a comedy night to raise money on behalf of the church, which is slated to close.
