The festival begins tonight and runs through Sunday, with 30 films on offer, visits from actors and filmmakers and after-parties in the city.
The Boston Irish Film Festival, now in its 13th year, rolls into Somerville and Cambridge tonight and runs through Sunday. The lineup this year includes an Oscar-winning short, some U.S. premiers, visits from actors and filmmakers, a special archival-print viewing of the classic 1952 film "The Quiet Man," and a special message from Maureen O'Hara, who stared alongside John Wayne in that film. The festival also includes collections of films that focus on themes of Northern Ireland and sports, and there will be after-parties at pubs in Davis, Magoun and Harvard squares.
