The Middlesex District Attorney has dropped charges against Somerville resident Irina Kristy, who was accused of running a methamphetamine lab with her son out of their home on Oxford Street, according to Cara O'Brien, a spokesperson for the district attorney. Kristy, 74, is a college professor who has worked as a lecturer in mathematics at Boston University and Suffolk University. Somerville residents Grigory Genkin and Irina Kristy, who have been accused of operating a meth lab out of their Oxford Street home, are next scheduled to appear in court in January. Genkin, 29, was in Somerville District Court Tuesday morning for a pre-trial session, and the court scheduled a probable cause hearing for Jan 24. Kristy, 74, Genkin's mother, is scheduled to be arraigned on that same day, according to Cara O'Brien, a spokesperson for the Middlesex County District Attorney's office.
