The hair salon opened earlier in January.
Ball Square is now home to Lindsay Griffin Boston Hairstylist + Co., according to an email from the salon's owner, Lindsay Griffin. Located at 106 Bristol Rd., the hair salon is taking appointments and also does lots of work with wedding hair styling, according to its website. It opened in Ball Square on Jan. 12. The website says: "[Griffin] uses a non-traditional, organic approach combining modern trends with classic styles. Lindsay focuses on creating everything from iconic updos to natural curls." The New England salon and spa company will move into the space formerly occupied by Cameras Inc.
Dellaria Salon, a hair styling chain with about 25 locations throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, according to the company's website, is opening a storefront in Davis Square. The salon is coming to the space formerly occupied by Cameras Inc., which closed this spring. A sign in the window of the old camera store, and a post on Dellaria's Facebook page from late June, says the company is hiring for the Davis Square location. The Facebook post says the Davis Square salon is coming soon.

Hair by Christine & Co and Alibrandi's Barber Shop are winners.
Hair by Christine & Co is the best hair saloon in Somerville, and Alibrandi's is the best barber shop, according to Somerville Patch readers. We tallied votes, comments and reviews to determine the winners. Hair by Christine & Co is a relative newcomer to the styling scene here in Somerville, having opened late last year. Alibrandi's Barber Shop, on the other hand, has been around—and run by the same family—since 1938! We'd also like to mention some runners up. A lot of Patch readers trust their locks to Ultima Hair Design, on Highland Avenue in Davis Square.
