Union Square Farmers Market Yes, it's finally here. The Union Square Farmers Market—everyone's favorite reason to wait in line at the Bank of America ATM for 15 minutes—opens for the season this Saturday. It runs through Nov. 23. The market features fresh produce, meats, fish, local wines and other tasty stuff. Often there's live music. It's from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and it accepts SNAP EBT cards, credit and debit cards, and senior farmers market coupons, so, actually, there's really no reason to wait in line at the ATM. Boston Calling Okay, it's not in Somerville, but it's cool. This two-day festival will feature 18 bands, including Fun, The National, Of Monsters of Men and The Shins. There will be two beer gardens and a number of food trucks and restaurants. It takes place Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Memorial Day Parade Somerville's Memorial Day Parade takes place Sunday. It will include 17 marching bands, Shriners, representatives from the New England Beauty Pageant and more. Somerville's SomerStreets 2013 Schedule

The street festivals will take place throughout the summer.

SomerStreets, now in its fourth year, is a series of street festivals. The city closes down streets to vehicles and opens them up for "cycling, walking, dancing, running, and other modes of activity," according to an announcement from the city. SomerStreet festivals include music, food and children's activities and more. Here's the 2013 SomerStreets schedule, from the city: The announcement says about 5,000 people attend each SomerStreets event.
