Police: Cambridge Garbage Worker Caught Selling Weed at Somerville Target

A Cambridge DPW worker was arrested after a four-month investigation into allegations he was selling drugs off his garbage truck.

A Cambridge garbage truck worker was arrested and accused of selling marijuana at the Somerville Target, according to Somerville and Cambridge police reports. The arrest came after a four-month investigation into allegations the worker was selling drugs off his garbage truck in Central Square. On July 13, Somerville and Cambridge police arrested Ralph Wade, 38, and charged him with drug possession to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug law. Cambridge police list Wade's address as being on Pritchard Street in Somerville, though Somerville police list his address as 279 Walden St., Cambridge. Investigation Leads to Heroin Arrests on Rush Street

Two Somerville residents were arrested after an ongoing investigation into an alleged heroin distribution operation.

Somerville police arrested two people at a Rush Street home July 13 after an investigation into an alleged heroin dealing operation. According to a police report, Virginia Hussey, 26, of 15 Rush St. and Frank Whitney, 27, of 103 Electric Ave. were arrested after the Somerville Police Drug Control Unit executed search warrants at the Rush Street address at about 4:15 p.m. The drug control unit had been conducting an ongoing investigation into Hussey's alleged heroin distribution operation, the report says. According to the report, the search team discovered three bags of brown powder believed to be heroin and packaging material associated with drug distribution. Two Arrested After Alleged Heroin Deal at Walgreens Lot

Charges for one include intent to distribute a class A drug in a school zone, which carries a mandatory two-year sentence if convicted.

After observing an alleged heroin deal take place between the drivers of two cars parked at the Winter Hill Walgreens Pharmacy, Somerville Police arrested both parties. On Wednesday afternoon Feb. 9, members of the Somerville Police Department Drug Control Unit were conducting a routine narcotic surveillance in the Winter Hill area when they observed what they deemed a suspicious driver pull into the Walgreens Pharmacy parking lot off Broadway. Not for nothing here, but this activity was not TRAFFICKING. If there were more $$ put into play for real rehab facilities...not the 3,5 or 10 day variety....there would be less drug activity. Why not pay to prevent instead of pay dearly to punish?   more ›
