There were 56 reported thefts of packages from porches and doorways during the 2011 holiday season, according to Somerville Police.
In December, 2011, days before Christmas, Somerville police, working with other police departments in the area, arrested a man and woman for allegedly stealing delivered packages from people's porches and doorways.
