Aldermen Discuss Tackling Rodent Control Before Spring

Rats once again pose safety hazards in the city. Residents living near Lincoln Park say problem is so bad that kids can’t play in their own back yards.

At the Mar. 10 Board of Aldermen meeting, members discussed at length the problems they’ve seen both recently, and in years past regarding rat infestation in the city and the public safety hazards it poses.  Alderwoman Maryann Heuston, and Aldermen Bill White, Dennis Sullivan, Bill Roche and Tom Taylor all spoke about the need to tackle the issue of rodent infestation before it worsens as warmer weather approaches. Heuston pointed out that as of late, her constituents have voiced concerns that rodent infestation in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Ward 2 has gotten so bad that kids can’t even play in their backyards.  “I’m meeting some health inspectors so I personally can do a walk through of some of those neighborhoods, and meet some of …
