Police Seek Knife-Wielding Man Who Chased Woman in East Somerville

Police have released a sketch of the suspect, who allegedly accosted a woman Saturday night.

Somerville Police are seeking to identify a suspect who is said to have pulled out a knife and chased a woman on Franklin Street in East Somerville Saturday night. According to an announcement from police, the woman said she saw the man crouched down near the sidewalk, and he then shouted obscenities at her in Spanish, pulled out a knife and began chasing her. He's described as an Hispanic male in his late 20s, about five-feet nine-inches tall, stocky, with a missing or gold tooth. Police: Man Attacks Neighbor With Weed Whacker, Then Gets Beaten Up

A woman was injured, a beer bottle was thrown, a weed whacker was wielded and punches were thrown after an argument about landscaping in Winter Hill.

Brothers' Fight Leads to Stabbing, Assault to Murder Charge

An altercation between two brothers inside a Pearl Street home led to an alleged stabbing with a kitchen knife.

A Somerville man allegedly stabbed his brother with a kitchen knife after an altercation between the two at a Pearl Street home, leading to his arrest on a charge of armed assault to murder. The victim sustained severe lacerations and was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to the police report. Police responded on Saturday, Aug. 25 around 3 p.m. to Cambridge City Hospital for a report of a stabbing, where the victim told a detective that 40 minutes earlier, he had gone to his former home on Pearl Street with his girlfriend, where his brother still lived, to pick up some clothes he left behind before he had moved to Lynn. Disabled Man Assaulted With Machete, Says Police Report

On his way to the hospital after the alleged attack, the victim was jumped and hit with a pipe or stick, he told police

Two men pushed their way in to the home of a disabled man, hit the man repeatedly, struck him the with flat part of a machete, kicked him on the ground and broke his cane in half, according to the victim's account in a Somerville police report. The victim was cut during the attack, possibly by the machete, and when police responded to his home the next day they found a "large amount" of blood splatters on the rug and walls, the report says. The man told police he didn't report the attack immediately because his assailants told him if he went to police they would hurt him, according to the report. Katherine Gonsalves, the 23-year-old Somerville woman who was allegedly assaulted by State Rep. Carlos Henriquez early Sunday morning in Arlington, spoke about the incident and its aftermath at a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Katherine Gonsalves, a Somerville woman who has accused a Dorchester state representative of assaulting her, read a statement Wednesday afternoon at the law offices of Brody, Hardoon, Perkins and Kesten in Boston and then her attorneys, Richard Brody and Leonard Kesten, answered questions. Gonsalves, a 23, who will be a student at UMass Boston this coming fall, was accompanied by her mother, Beatriz Mamani, of Arlington. State Rep. Carlos Henriquez, D-Dorchester, pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against him in Roxbury District Court on Monday and has called the allegations "completely untrue." Related Content

Somerville Woman Allegedly Jumped from Car to Escape Dorchester State Rep

Boston is talking about assault and kidnapping allegations brought against a young state representative from Dorchester. The victim in the alleged incident is from Somerville.

Dorchester state representative Carlos "Tony" Henriquez has been accused of kidnapping and assaulting a 23-year-old Somerville woman, who allegedly jumped from his rented Zipcar to get away, according to media reports. On Monday, Henriquez adamantly denied these allegations. According to a report in the Boston Herald, the freshman state representative picked up the Somerville woman at about 2 a.m. Sunday at the woman's mother's home in Arlington. The victim told police Henriquez wanted to discuss their "friendship," but when she asked to be taken home, he instead drove her around Boston—in a Toyota Zipcar—and repeatedly punched her, the Herald says. Police: Woman Assaulted Near Porter Square Thursday Night

Assault occurred near Holyoke Road and Elm Street as victim walked from Porter Square.

A woman was assaulted near Porter Square Thursday night, according to a Somerville police statement sent to residents late Friday afternoon. The 23-year-old victim was able to scream and scare off her assailant. “The victim reported that she was grabbed from behind and indecently assaulted before she screamed, apparently scaring off the suspect,” wrote police in the alert issued by e-mail. “The suspect then fled on Elm Street. Police Report: Man Throws Brick at Cop

The brick-throwing man was being chased by an angry boyfriend when police showed up, according to a police report.

A man threw a brick at a police officer while being chased by both the officer and an angry boyfriend, according to a police report. The alleged brick-throwing took place at about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 13 on Pennsylvania Avenue in East Somerville, according to the report. An officer in the area was dispatched to Pennsylvania Avenue after a woman called 911 and said her boyfriend was chasing someone down the street. The man the boyfriend was chasing had, the previous day, tried to rob the woman, according to the police report.
