A Somerville man was arrested and accused of taking photos of women changing their clothes in the locker room at the YMCA.
The following information is from the Somerville Police Department: Somerville Man Arrested For Taking Secret Photos SOMERVILLE—On November 1st. Somerville Police responded to a disturbance at the YMCA at 101 Highland Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers learned that a female had observed an unknown suspect who had been secretly taking photos from behind a bathroom stall while she was changing her clothes. A second woman, who had just left the women’s locker room minutes earlier was also present. After getting a description of the suspect, a search of the YMCA resulted in locating the suspect in the men’s locker room. In a sting operation similar to one carried out in November, police arrested a woman at The Holiday Inn on Saturday on prostitution charges.
As part of an ongoing investigation by the Somerville Police Drug/Vice Control Unit into prostitution in Somerville, a woman was arrested on Saturday at The Holiday Inn on Washington St. Twenty-two-year-old Heather Robinson of Winthrop was charged with offering sexual conduct for a fee at the hotel. On March 12, members of the Drug Control/ Vice Unit responded to an Internet ad “offering services for a fee from an unidentified Somerville location,” report police. An undercover detective responded to the ad and allegedly received a quote of $125 for a half-hour of sexual services and $150 for one hour, according to police. A Somerville autobody shop owner was arrested Friday and charged with several counts of insurance fraud, malicious destruction of property, forgery and larceny. Michael Block, 38, of Natick, who owns Motor Sports, Inc., at 280-286 Columbia St., is accused of "enhancing damage to five motor vehicles, resulting in inflated insurance claims. The investigation is ongoing and could result in additional charges against the target stemming from intentional damage done to dozens of other vehicles,” according to a statement issued by the State Police. Drug detection canines from three cities allegedly assisted Somerville police in locating 57 grams of cocaine in the vehicle of an East Boston man who was arrested for cocaine trafficking in East Somerville.
An East Boston man was arrested on Glen St. and charged with cocaine trafficking last week after police allegedly discovered 57 grams of cocaine on his person and hidden in his car. K-9 units from three cities allegedly helped sniff out the drugs. According to the police report, the Somerville Police Department Drug Control Unit has been conducting an ongoing narcotic investigation focused on a residence in East Somerville. Working on a lead that included the vehicle make, license plate and appearance of the man believed to be the principle cocaine supplier, members of the Somerville Police Department Drug Control Unit and the Somerville Police Department Anti Crime/Gang Unit established surveillance of the area. A Malden man is facing charges of assault to murder in the alleged stabbing a Somerville man at Tommy Doyle’s Pub in Harvard Square.
Late Friday night, as staff at Tommy Doyle’s Pub in Cambridge allegedly struggled to break up a fight between two men at the bar, one of the pub’s bouncers who resides in Somerville was stabbed and wounded. Cambridge Police arrived at the Harvard Square bar at roughly 1:50 a.m. Saturday morning and report they found the victim, a 48-year-old Somerville man, seated at the bar and bleeding from his chest. He was alert and informed the officers that while trying to break up a fight in the upstairs bar, a customer had stabbed him near his armpit. On Friday, Somerville Police arrested two nonresidents who allegedly came to Somerville to conduct a crack cocaine deal at a location that has been under surveillance by the narcotics unit.
On Friday, Somerville police arrested two nonresidents after observing an alleged crack cocaine deal transpire at a residential complex that the Drug Control Unit has had under surveillance. The apartment complex at 22 Kent St. near Union Square has been under police surveillance as part of an ongoing cocaine investigation. While there on Friday afternoon Feb. 18, detectives allegedly observed a Cambridge woman exit the building, pace in front of her car while speaking on her cell phone and then sit in her car in the parking lot.
