Somerville Police Help Arrest Suspect in Armed Robbery of Medford Gas Station

Another suspect is still at large. One suspect showed a knife while the other assaulted a clerk with an "aerosol spray."

Somerville police and Somerville Housing Authority police recently assisted Medford police in arresting a New Bedford man in connection to the armed robbery of a gas station in Medford near the Somerville border. Medford Police are still seeking another suspect in the robbery, which took place at Fred's Gas Station on Mystic Avenue late last month. Jesus Carrasquillo, 19, of 889 County St. in New Bedford, was arrested Feb. 7 at 500 Mystic Ave., Somerville, and charged with armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon for his alleged role in the robbery, according to Medford police and a Somerville police booking log. Police: Thief Hits Store Clerk with Phone, Steals Cigarettes, Loses Shoe, Gets Caught

Police arrested an East Boston man after an alleged botched robbery of a convenience store in East Somerville.

A 37-year-old East Boston man stole a pack of Newport cigarettes from an East Somerville market, claimed he had a gun, hit the store's clerk in the head with a phone, grabbed about $500 from the register, then lost the money and a shoe in his attempt to flee, according to allegations in a police report. He was subsequently caught by police, the report says. According to the report, Jonathan Sanchez walked into Alisson Market, at 46A Broadway, at around 10 p.m. on Jan. 28. According to the victim's account, Sanchez stole the pack of cigarettes then asked the victim, who worked at the market, to make change for a $20 bill. Police Arrest Suspect in Highland Ave. Gunpoint Robbery Case

Jonathan Williams, 31, of Revere, is accused of holding up the QuickStop Somerville convenience store at the corner of Highland Avenue and Lowell Street. Police say they received several tips from the public.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Revere man in connection to Sunday's brazen armed robbery of QuickStop Somerville convenience store at 219 Highland Avenue. Jonathan Williams was arrested Wednesday in Woburn without incident, according to an announcement from Somerville police. According to the announcement, detectives received tips form the public and other sources that led them to Williams. The Somerville Police Department had release surveillance video of Sunday's robbery. The video depicted a man brandishing a pistol as he stole nearly $1,000 from the store's cash register and money box. WATCH: Man With Pistol Robs Highland Avenue Convenience Store

The suspect is also wanted for allegedly robbing three convenience stores in Medford.

Somerville police released surveillance video of a suspect who robbed the Somerville QuickStop Convenience Store, at 219 Highland Ave., at gunpoint. In the video you can see the suspect pull out a pistol and threaten the store's clerk with it while the robber helps himself to about $1,000 in cash from the register and money box. The robbery happened Sunday night, and police believe the suspect is the same man who robbed three stores in Medford. Police: Woman Held Up at Knifepoint Escapes by Kicking Robber in Shin

The woman was grabbed from behind and held up with a kitchen knife, according to a police report.

A woman who was held up at knifepoint in East Somerville Saturday scared off her assailant by kicking him in the shin and screaming, according to a Somerville police report. Police responded to the incident a little after 7 a.m. and spoke to the victim, who said she was walking down Pearl Street near Pinckney Street when she was grabbed from behind and spun around, according to the report. The assailant held a kitchen knife to her stomach and mumbled something she didn't understand, the report says. Fearing for her life, the woman kicked the would-be robber in the shin and screamed, and he ran off toward Charlestown, according to the report. Police: Three Somerville Men Involved in Gunpoint Robbery in Medford

Five men were arrested after a brief manhunt Friday night, police said.

A group of teenagers at Victory Park in Medford were surrounded by five men who robbed them using a gun and knives Friday night, according to a police report. Three of the alleged assailants were from Somerville. The suspects were spotted by police shortly after the incident and three of them attempted to flee, leading police on a brief manhunt before being apprehended and positively identified by the victims, the police report said. Jollil Centeio, 20, of Somerville, Jesse Williams, 23, of Medford, Darryl McClure, 18, of Arlington, Conor Scarry, 17, of Somerville and Juwan Paige-Alexander, 18, of Somerville will each face four counts of armed robbery and four counts of witness intimidation. Cab Driver Hospitalized After Saturday Morning Beating

Three suspects robbed a Boston cab driver early Saturday morning in Winter Hill, according to Somerville police. Two suspects were arrested.

Three suspects robbed and beat a Boston taxi driver early Saturday morning, sending the 31-year-old driver to the hospital, according to a statement from the Somerville Police Department and a police report. The beating took place a little after 1:30 a.m. on Evergreen Avenue in Winter Hill, the statement says. According to the police report, the cab driver picked up the three young men in the Government Center area of Boston. The driver told police that he drove the suspects to Evergreen Avenue, near the Winter Hill Community School, where they told him to stop. Somerville Man Charged with Three Armed Robberies

The 44-year-old Somerville man allegedly robbed three convenience stores, including one on Highland Avenue.

Michael Wallace, a 44 year-old Somerville man accused of conducting three armed robberies, was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court Tuesday, according to a statement from the Middlesex district attorney. Wallace is accused of robbing three convenience stores, including Pick and Go Convenience on Highland Avenue in Somerville. He allegedly threatened store employees with a firearm during the robberies. After the Pick and Go robbery, which took place June 6, Somerville police released surveillance photos of the robber.  Wallace is also accused of robbing a convenience store in Medford on June 14 and a convenience store in Winchester—the Dairy Barn—on June 15, also with the aid of a firearm.
