Flipper Loves People and Dogs and Has a Funny Walk

He would do best in a home without small children.

Flipper is a 2-year-old neutered Welsh Corgi mix. He is energetic and loves to play with other dogs. He is very friendly with people in the kennel and on walks. Flipper would do best in a home without small children because he doesn’t like to share his food or toys. Flipper is one unique guy. He has a funny gait that will make you smile all day long, after all he was named Flipper for a reason. Don't pass up the opportunity to make Flipper a part of your family! Snowy the Cat Is Ready to Go Home Today

He's a bit shy but loves to give "head nudges."

Snowy is an absolute sweetheart. At 8 years old, Snowy has been moved around a lot, so she is a bit on the shy side but warms right up when you give her affection. When people open her cage to visit, she jumps right up to give them head nudges on their hands. Snowy would do best in a quiet home where she will be doted on with plenty of love. She lived with another cat in her previous home and would probably do well with another mellow cat. She has already been spayed, and is ready to go to her final home today. You don’t want to miss out on this pretty lady! For more information on Snowy or any of the other animals currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please contact us at (617) 226-5602. The Animal Rescue League of …

Pet of the Week: Brownie is Playful and Loves to Cuddle

She would do well in an active family with another playful dog.

Brownie is an active and fun-loving 2-year-old mixed breed. She loves to play with other dogs during our morning playgroup and would likely do well living with another playful dog. This girl has a lot of energy to burn, and is looking for a home with an active family. She is very smart and loves to cuddle. Brownie would benefit greatly from attending a basic obedience class to help work on her manners. She is already walking better with the help of a gentle leader. Brownie loves to chase birds and squirrels so would probably do best in a home without cats or small critters. This lady has a lot of personality and would love to meet her new family ASAP! If you're looking for an affectionate and playful companion, Brownie just might be the …

Lily Mae, a 'Couch Potato' Girl Looking for a Home

She's gentle and mellow and would be a great fit for a quiet home.

Lily Mae is a sweetheart of a cat with a gentle and mellow personality. She is a 2-year old spayed female and is at the shelter due to landlord restrictions of her previous home. She loves to have her back and shoulders scratched, and also loves to be brushed. She would be a great fit for a quiet home, and would best be described as a "couch potato" girl. She is a darling companion who does not need a lot of action and attention to be happy. Give her a soft bed and she's good to go, and she’ll never turn down a crunch cat treat! Bette Midler, a Cat Who Entertains Herself and Needs a New Home

She'd be a great pet for someone who works long hours, but she wants to be an "only child."

Bette Midler is a very cute 6-year-old spayed female cat. This young lady found herself in the shelter due to her previous family’s allergies. Her independent nature makes her a great companion for any cat lover who may work long hours, as she is quite content to nap all day and find her own sources of entertainment. But when you are home she’ll cuddle up on the couch, or if you’re up for it, a feather wand toy would make her day. Bette Midler likes to be in the spotlight and wants to be an "only child." Bette Midler does not enjoy the company of other animals. If you are willing to be Bette Midler’s biggest fan, come meet her and take her home today! Pet of the Week: When the New Baby Came, Nala Was Put Up for Adoption

Nala is lazy when inside and has "get up and go" when outside. She loves walks and needs a new home.

Nala is a fluffy, quiet 7-year-old Chow Chow who was brought to the shelter due to having a new baby in the home. She can be very shy at first but does approach when her new friend is patient and supportive. She enjoys the company of other low-key dogs. Though she isn't overly playful, she does have bursts of puppy-like energy. Despite her shyness, her best command is "come!" She enjoys walks and shows interest in squirrels and other small animals. Grooming is a must for this fluffy good-natured lady! Nala is just the right mix of “get-up-and-go” when outside and laziness when inside. It doesn’t get much better than this adorable pup. Come meet her today! For more information on Nala or any of the other animals currently residing at the …

It's not fair to judge people based on very few facts. Every situation is unique and I can't help but think that this family is probably devastated to give up their family pet. It's very possible that Nala was not adjusting well to a new baby. Having just adopted a dog that came from a similar circumstance, I don't think less of the family for making this hard decision after their baby was born. …   more ›

Pet of the Week: Coco Enjoys Playing, Couch Time, Dreaming of Permanent Home

This 5-year-old pit bull mix is a laid back guy.

Meet Coco. Coco is an independent, 5-year-old pit bull mix who was found as a stray in Franklin County. He enjoys playing with other large dogs, though he does prefer the ladies to the males here in our playgroup. Coco has high prey drive, so he should not go home with small dogs, cats or other small critters. He walks nicely on an easy walk harness, knows some of his basic commands and seems to be housebroken. He is a laid back guy looking for a couch of his own. If you're looking for a handsome pittie to add to your family, Coco is definitely your guy!
