Established to assist Somerville firefighters with their financial goals and responsibilities, the Somerville MassMore Firefighters Credit union is located on the 3rd floor of the Riely - Brickley Central Fire station.  This office is not open to the general public, but local firemen can stop by, or make an appointment.

Blanca Alcatraz's yoga studio, perched above the Bloc 11 coffee shop, was created with the dream of making yogaMore available to everyone, not just those with disposable income. A firefighter herself, Alcatraz offers discounts to her firefighting comrades, along with police, paramedics and teachers. Committed to bringing yoga to the people, her studio even holds donation-based classes every Friday. Staying true to her mantra, "everyday yoga, everyday people," Alcatraz's classes are unintimidating and focus on empowerment. The bright studio overlooks Bow Street from floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Somerville Fire Department's five fire stations are staffed by 152 full-time firefighters, of which roughly halfMore are trained EMTs. Because they respond to both fire and medical emergencies, their entire fleet—which includes five fire engines, two ladder trucks and one tower ladder truck—is equipped with life support equipment such as defibrillators. The department is also equipped for special ops, hazmat ops and water rescue.

Stations are located in Winter Hill (266 Broadway), which also serves as their headquarters; Spring Hill (265 Highland Ave.), Union Square (255 Somerville Ave.), Teele Square (6 Newbury St.), and at the Lowell St. Station (corner of Lowell and Somerville Ave.). The Fire Prevention Office is located at the DPW at 1 Franey Road.

The all-volunteer Somerville Auxiliary Fire Department provides support for both City firefighters and police via three squads that provide lighting for emergencies, water pumping during flooding, and on-scene rehabilitation services.  

Fire Department Office hours are Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm. Emergency services are, of course, 24/7.
