Man Smokes Pot In Front of Police Station, Gets Arrested, Says Report

He also had baggies filled with marijuana and a knife, a police report says.

A man walking past the police station and a marked police cruiser while smoking pot was arrested on April 24, according to a Somerville police report. The report says George Rivera, 22, of 130 Sycamore St., was walking by the station at about 3:12 p.m. with a group of males when an officer sitting in a cruiser saw him smoking a "roach." Rivera dropped the roach, but the officer eventually discovered that Rivera also had a prescription bottle containing nine baggies that were also filled with marijuana, the report says. After placing Rivera under arrest, Richard Alomar, 22, of 309 Summer St., became belligerent with the officers, according to the report. MIT Officer Collier Laid to Rest in Peabody

Dozens of police vehicles escorted the body of slain MIT police officer Sean Collier to a private funeral service at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Peabody Wednesday afternoon.

More than 30 American flags, veterans from across Massachusetts and Connecticut, Peabody police officers and state troopers solemnly greeted the motorcade bearing the body of Sean Collier as it arrived in Peabody this afternoon. Collier, a 26-year-old MIT police officer who was allegedly shot and killed by the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects on April 18, was laid to rest at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The motorcade, which included three departments Collier was affiliated with -- MIT, Cambridge and Somerville, accompanied Collier's family from the site of a memorial service at MIT earlier today. About 15,000 seats were set up at Briggs Field on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Wednesday for a memorial to fallen MIT Officer Sean Collier. It was hard to find an empty one, with thousands of law enforcement coming from across the country and the world to pay their respects alongside a grieving MIT community. Collier, 26, was shot and killed in his police cruiser last Thursday evening. The suspects in his death are the same suspects in the bombings at the Boston Marathon April 15. Report: Tsarnaev Admits to Detonating Marathon Bombs

The Boston Marathon bombings suspect currently hospitalized told FBI agents that he and his brother detonated the bombs near the finish line, the Boston Globe reports.

The Boston Marathon bombing suspect currently hospitalized admitted to FBI agents that he and his brother detonated the bombs planted near the finish line, the Boston Globe reports. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, made the reported admission on Sunday from his bed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and had not yet been given a Miranda warning, the Globe reported. A "senior police official" told the Globe that authorities were not concerned about Tsarnaev not being read his Miranda rights, which means any statements he made would not be admissible in court, due to testimony of the Tsarnaev brother's alleged carjacking victim. Police: Three Arrested on Heroin Charges

The arrests stemmed from an ongoing investigation, police said.

An ongoing investigation by Somerville Police’s Drug Control Unit led to the arrest of three out-of-towners last week on heroin charges, according to the police report. As a result of the investigation, police made a motor vehicle stop at about 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Broadway and Wheatland Street in East Somerville because they had reasons to believe that there was heroin in the vehicle, according to the report. Bombing Suspect Indicted at Bedside, will Face Trial in Federal Court

A federal magistrate went to the hospital as a sealed complaint was filed against the bombing suspect.

A federal magistrate visited the bedside of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as the surviving marathon bombing suspect was charged with the crime.  Tsarnaev is charged with unlawfully using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction (namely, an improvised explosive device) against persons and property within the United States.  He is also charged with maliciously damaging and destroying, by means of explosive, real and personal property used in interstate and foreign commerce and actively affecting interstate and foreign commerce resulting in personal injury and death.  Tsarnaev remains in serious condition at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, according to the FBI.
