Winter Farmers Market Opens

The Somerville Winter Farmers Market is back in business on Saturday. To mark the occasion, the famers market is holding an opening-day celebration, with live music and prizes. There will be some new vendors this year, too. The Winter Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Center for Arts at the Armory.

Holiday Open Studios
A number of Somerville's art studios will be open this weekend, including Vernon Street Studios, Artisans Asylum, Washington Street Art Center and Mudflat Studios.

Holiday Arts and Eats Festival
This weekend-long festival takes place at Assembly Row in Assembly Square. On Friday there will be a beer and glüwein tent, and throughout the festival more than 60 artists and artisans will be selling their creations. It's also a food truck festival, with 21 trucks making an appearance throughout the weekend.

Threadbare
This exhibit, featuring works by Marissa Falco, Lauren Leone and Courtney McKenna, opens at the Washington Street Art Center, 321 Washington St., Saturday at 7 p.m.

Davis Flea Holiday Vintage Market
This market, featuring antiques, collectables and other vintage stuff, is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Center for Arts at the Armory.

Harvard Bookstore Warehouse Sale
Harvard Bookstore is opening its Somerville warehouse, at 14 Park St., to the public. You'll find thousands of discount, used and collectable books for sale. There will also be some refreshments and entertainment. The sale is Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More here.

Festivus of Comedy
Kitsch In Sync presents this holiday improv series at Davis Square Theatre. There are multiple shows, so click above for more information.

Union Square Winter Craft Market
The market, at Precinct in Union Square, is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

West Somerville Neighborhood School Holiday Craft and Vendor Show
A great place to get stocking-stuffers from more than 40 vendors. It's Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the West Somerville Neighborhood School, 177 Powderhouse Boulevard.

Mudflat Holiday Open Studio and Pottery Sale
Part of the open studios mentioned above, this holiday market of clay artwork and pottery takes place through Dec. 15, but the opening reception is Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Mudflat is at 81 Broadway.

Slutcracker
The annual burlesque version of Tchaikovsky's holiday story continues its run at Somerville Theatre. Find information about tickets and showtimes at the Slutcracker website.

Crossing Musical Borders
This show, a collaboration with the New England Conservatory, is a musical journey from India to Brazil and lands in between. It's Sunday at 4 p.m. at The Center for Arts at the Armory.
