TEARS, PLEDGES AND PROMISES ON COLD CASE VIDEO LINK
Somerville, MA, April 8, 2014 – With the reward for information now up at $70,000, friends, families and officials are hoping that someone comes forward and helps police solve the Deanna Cremin murder.
Nineteen years ago, the 17-year-old highschool student was strangled at night as she was on her way home. Her body was dumped behind a senior housing complex.
On March 22, with remembrances, a poem, speeches and the release of 19 balloons, a crowd of neighbors, friends, family, elected officials and police gathered in the cold rain to mark the young woman’s death.

“Sixty-nine hundred days of not knowing what happened,” Middlesex County District Attorney told the crowd. “We will bring this case to a just resolution and a successful conclusion. That is our promise to you today.”
Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone also made a promise, pledging that “the city, the police department, we’re going to do more.” Curtatone also announced a donation of $50,000 to the existing $20,000 reward.

Among those present was sister Christine Cremin.
“I was 18 when Deanna died. I will never forget the day my sister was murdered,” she told Somerville Neighborhood News. “It was the worse day of my life.
