Open House and PSA Day at SCATV!

Somerville Community Access Television (SCATV) is hosting an Open House and PSA Day on May 5. SCATV has been the public access station in Somerville since 1983, and it is well known by long-time residents who remember the excitement it brought the City when cable TV was new.

More recent residents may not know about SCATV or even much about public access television and the amazing, state of the art media services it offers residents.

The studio at 90 Union Square will be open from 4:00 to 8:00pm for tours and information about how Somerville residents can learn to use HD cameras, create studio TV shows, become a radio DJ, or cover important local stories for Somerville Neighborhood News. Non-profit organizations are invited to come in between noon and 8:00pm to record a 60-second promotional video, or “PSA,” about their services that will air on SCATV Channel 3.

Organizations should call the SCATV studio at 617-628-8826 for details about this valuable offer and to schedule a tape time. The PSA is free for organizations that join SCATV
