A chat with 'Ville's local poet extraordinarie

Here at SCATV, we have nearly 200 active members. Some come through our door to take advantage of our classes, some host their own TV show, others come in to host a radio show and some want to find out how they can embrace their inner creative genius. Basically, there are folks from all walks of life.

One of SCATV's long-time members, Doug Holder, came into my office recently to interview my colleague, Gordon Nelson and I, about SCATV. Doug Holder wears many hats: he is wordsmith with his poetry & literary writing, as well as a literary professor and also hosts his own LIVE SCATV show called Poet to Poet, Writer to Writer, his blog is found here: poettopoetwritertowriter.blogspot.com/. Holder is also involved in many other community endeavors. Some mornings you can find him writing away at Bloc 11.

We appreciate the time he spent interviewing us, hopefully the blog post offers some insight into the who, what, where, why, and how of your local non-profit community media organization.

Here is the repost to his article, http://dougholder.blogspot.com/2014/01/chewing-fat-with-somervilles-media.html

There is nothing more satisfying than building community and seeing partnerships blossom. Until next time, same bat-time, same bat-channel.
