A lot of times, parents act like adolescents, shouting and screaming and engaging in endless arguments. This is clearly not what a parent should do to help the situation.

It seems like parents and the teen are confused, hurt, and angry. The teen see their parents’ hurt as manipulative and their anger as pressure. The parents see the teen’s hostility as unfair and their demands as unreasonable. Any satisfying moments have become very rare. Both parent and son are scared and don’t know what to do.
