When Are Somerville’s Fourth of July Fireworks?

There will be live entertainment as well.

Somerville’s Fourth of July fireworks will go off at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Trum Field on Broadway.

Prior to the fireworks, starting at 6 p.m., there will be performances by the Somerville Sunsetters, the local disco-funk band Booty Vortex, the USO Metropolitan New York Performers and the U.S. Navy Band Northeast Pops Ensemble.

If it rains, the USO Metropolitan New York Performers and the U.S. Navy Band Northeast Pops Ensemble will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at the East Somerville Community School, 50 Cross St. The rain date for the fireworks is Thursday, July 10.

The city is recommending that attendees leave their pets at home and any unnecessary bags or backpacks. All bags and backpacks will be subject to inspection.

Parking restrictions:

Broadway:

  • No parking at Trum Field from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • No parking from Ball Square to Magoun Square from 4 p.m. to midnight (street closed from 5 p.m. to midnight).

Cedar Street:

  • No parking from Morrison Avenue to the Bridge from 8 a.m. to midnight (traffic restricted to residents only from 4-6 p.m.; street closed after 6 p.m.).
  • No parking from the Bridge to Broadway from 8 a.m. to midnight (traffic restricted to residents only from 4-6 p.m.; street closed 6 p.m. to midnight).

Franey Road:

  • No parking 4 p.m. to midnight (street closed 4 p.m. to midnight).

Charles E. Ryan Road:

  • No parking 8 a.m. to midnight (access restricted to residents only 4-6 p.m.; street closed 6 p.m. to midnight.)

MBTA 80 and 89 buses:

  • The MBTA 80 and 89 buses will be rerouted from 5 p.m. to midnight. Visit www.somervillema.gov or call 311 for full detour information.
