This Weekend in Somerville: Superheroes, Hot Sauce and Ice Cream

Kids are encouraged to dress as superheroes to the Saturday. It's part of "Super Hero Farmers Market" promoting healthy foods. There are even special superhero characters, created by Somerville animator Honolulu Dogfight especially for the occasion.

Yarnstorm Perry Park to support Somerville Homeless Coalition
Knitters of all ages will give a "a warm and fuzzy makeover" on Saturday, according to an announcement from the , which is organizing the "Yarnstorming." It's part of the gallery's year-round Wrap Around project, where knitters create handmade items to sell at a huge sale in November. It benefits the . Those interested should check out the Yarnstorm from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Perry Park.


This is one you don't see every day. If you've got unwanted documents you want to dispose of, head to the at 285 Highland Ave. for a community shredding event. Not only can you shred all those documents, there will also be music, refreshments and giveaways. It's Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
