Somerville to Host Statewide Track Meet on Saturday

The 38th Annual Boys’ and 36th Annual Girls’ Massachusetts State Track Coaches’ Association (MSTCA) Outdoor Track & Field Invitational will be held at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville on Saturday, May 12th.  The field events will start at 9:30AM and running events will begin at 10:00AM.  The Meet will attract over 2,000 student athletes and spectators from all over Massachusetts to Somerville’s , considered one of the premier track and field venues in the State. Dilboy Stadium is also currently home to the Boston Militia, Boston’s professional women’s football team, and the Boston Breakers, Boston’s professional women’s soccer team.  The MSTCA Meet is sponsored by Somerville High School, in cooperation with the Somerville Recreation Commission.  Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students/seniors.

Meet Director and Somerville High School Girls’ Track and Field Coach Charlie O’Rourke said, “We are proud to host this MSTCA elite track meet and to bring student-athletes and guests from all over the State into our City.  It is not only a great opportunity to showcase the City of Somerville, but also the talented SHS student athletes.”
