Somerville NFL Player Offers Free Kids Camp

Gosder Cherilus, a Somerville High School graduate and member of the Detroit Lions, will be at Dilboy Stadium from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday.

NLF player Gosder Cherilus, who graduated from Somerville High School in 2003 and is an offensive tackle for the Detroit Lions, will host a free football camp for kids at Wednesday morning.

According to an announcement issued by the city of Somerville, the football camp is for Somerville kids between the ages of 7 and 14.

It will include skills demonstrations by Cherilus and fellow Somerville High School teammate Wainwright Wint, who played football at Harvard.

Other NFL players will make appearances, along with current and former players from Boston College, according to the announcement. Cherilus played  at Boston College before being drafted by the Lions in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft.

There will be an autograph session at the end of the camp.
