The Blades will play les Stars de Montréal on Jan. 13.

The Boston Blades are the only American team in the Canadian Women's Hockey League, and they will play the Montreal Stars in Somerville on Jan. 13 to benefit a local family shelter.

The Blades and the Stars are top-level women's pro teams, and a number of Blades players could make it onto the U.S. women's national team.

Some proceeds from the game, which takes place at 1:35 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Skating Rink, will benefit the Elizabeth Stone House, a Roxbury-based shelter.
