The clinic's purpose was to introduce the community's youth to the world's most beautiful and popular sport and the real life positive impact the game can have on children - especially with their nutrition and education.

New Bedford High School girls’ varsity soccer coach Nick Adams, as well as a few of his high school players, along with the Sidekick staff, taught the players agility, coordination, and competitiveness through fun activities that included both mental and physical challenges.

“We always close the clinic by speaking about the importance of education,” said Sidekick director Zach Rocha, who is an alumnus of the GNB Boys’ & Girls’ Club. “Whether your extracurricular interest is in playing soccer, basketball, football or another sport, or it’s in playing music or painting a picture or something else, your enjoyment in those passions can be enhanced by your achievement in the classroom.”

Corner Sports Store and the Boston Breakers donated prizes to be given to the clinic's participants and many children walked away with shirts, balls, and video games. All children walked away with a high five.
