Senator Patricia Jehlen Celebrates National Healthcare Decisions Day with Game Night

If you become sick or hurt, do your loved ones know what kind of care you want? Senator Patricia Jehlen is helping community members start an important conversation about end-of-life issues by holding a game night featuring My Gift of Grace, a game that helps everyone have a conversation that is often put off until it is too late.

The game night is being held to celebrate National Healthcare Decisions Day along with national, state, and community organizations around the country.

Where: Century Bank 400 Mystic Ave Medford, MA

When: Tuesday April 22nd, 6:00-7:30pm

“I am excited to invite all members of our community to play this game with us. End-of-life planning is important for everyone, and this game makes the conversation easier. While the issues are serious, most players report that it’s fun to play,” said Senator Jehlen. “Having these conversations is a gift to your family if they ever have to make decisions for you.”

My Gift of Grace was developed by The Action Mill, a Philadelphia-based design firm that focuses on improving end-of-life communication and decision making. The game was a winner of the 2013 California Healthcare Foundation’s End of Life Challenge, and was launched with the help of a Kickstarter campaign last summer that raised over $41,000 last summer.. The National Healthcare Decisions Day Initiative is a collaborative effort of national, state and community organizations committed to ensuring that all adults with decision-making capacity in the United States have the information and opportunity to communicate and document their healthcare decisions.
