Somerville Public Schools has mailed kindergarten information packets to parents, and it also hosted informational sessions earlier this month.
If you didn't make it to one of those sessions, or if you didn't receive a packet, don't panic. There's still time to learn about elementary schools in Somerville, and you can call the Parent Information Center at (617) 629-5670 to receive a packet and ask questions.
There are some important dates coming up.
First, kindergarten open houses take place on Jan. 22, 23 and 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to visit schools and chose your favorites.
Second, you can begin registering for kindergarten on Jan. 25.

When registering your child for kindergarten, you'll need to provide proof of residency, a birth certificate and medical records.
School assignment letters will be sent in April.
