Kennedy Elementary School Assistant Principal to Take Over Next Year

The district made the announcement Tuesday.

Mark Hurrie, assistant principal at Somerville’s John F. Kennedy Elementary School, has been named as the school’s next principal, the district announced Tuesday.

Hurrie, who has been in his current role for three years, will replace Anne Foley, who is retiring in July.

Prior to coming to Somerville, Hurrie served as dean of students at Mattacheese Middle School in Yarmouth. He beat out nearly 30 applicants for the job, according to the district.
