Time to Bring Jobs Home!

Now we need politicians and corporations to step up and create jobs here at home.

It seems like everything we buy in America has come from somewhere else. That’s why this July 4, many union members will be celebrating all those workers who produce goods in America and who make our country great.

Now we need politicians and corporations to step up and create jobs here at home.

Manufacturing job loss within the last decade has been greater than that during the Great Depression.  We don’t want history to repeat itself, which is why it is so important our elected leaders support legislation that will get our economy back on track. Politicians must address current incentives that actually encourage businesses to ship our jobs overseas.  One example is corporations that are allowed to defer paying any taxes at all when they move their operations overseas.

And we need our leaders to tackle currency manipulation by our trading partners, which is another key reason why corporations ship jobs overseas, and trade policies that exploit workers.

Congress can take a first step by passing the Bring Jobs Home Act, a bill that gives companies a tax credit to reverse outsourcing and bring jobs back to America. American prosperity shouldn’t become a thing of the past. Investing in America means investing in the future of our children and making sure things are left better for future generations.

Elected officials need to support comprehensive solutions that will create good jobs now!
