All Things Horror Presents
Watch Yeewei Chai's TWISTED (2012), which is, according to the listing, a "darkly humorous horror film from Malaysia/Singapore about fate, karma, and demonic possession." It's at 8 p.m. Saturday at Somerville Theatre.

MLK Day Events

Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration: "Equality Through Access"
The city and Somerville Public Schools commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at Somerville Theatre with a celebration called "Equality Through Access." Lorraine Cordeiro, assistant professor and family research scholar at UMass Amherst, will deliver the keynote address, and there will be live music and readings from student essays. Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone will also speak. It's from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Big Obama inauguration party
Commemorate the inauguration of President Obama to his second term in office Monday at Orleans. Sponsored by Cambridge Somerville for Change, Progressive Democrats of Somerville, Progressive Mass and Organizing for America (OFA), the party will feature a number of "special guests," including Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone, State Sen. Pat Jehlen and Sal DiDomenico, State Rep. Denise Provost, Carl Sciortino and Marty Walz, and a number of local aldermen and city councilors. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. and the ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. RSVP at http://bit.ly/Victory2Party.

American Red Cross Blood Drive and Food Collection
As part of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, there will be a "day of service" outside Somerville Theatre. It includes a blood drive and a canned-food collection. It's from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Maple Syrup Project Fundraiser Brunch
Groundwork Somerville is preparing for its annual maple tapping. From the listing: "Enjoy maple-themed dishes and cocktails while supporting the Boil Down Festival (March 9th), our Maple Syrup education programming, and local syrup production. We're entering the 10th year of the Somerville Maple Syrup Project, and we hope to make it a memorable one." The fundraiser begins at 11 a.m. at The Independent in Union Square.
