Progressive Democrats Host Alderman-At Large Candidates Forum
The forum is Monday at 6:30 p.m.
The Progressive Democrats of Somerville are hosting a forum Monday for candidates seeking an at-large seat on the Somerville Board of Aldermen.
In Somerville, each of the city's seven wards elects and alderman, and there are four at-large aldermen who are elected citywide.
With At-Large Alderman Bruce Desmond not running for re-election, the Somerville Board of Aldermen will have at least one new at-large member after November's election.
The Progressive Democrats sent each at-large candidate a questionnaire, and at Monday's forum candidates will introduce themselves and have an opportunity to answer questions from the audience.
The Democratic political organization held similar forums for ward-based alderman candidates and School Committee candidates over the summer.
Monday's forum will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Kesher Center, 13 Garden Court, which is next to Conway Park.
