More Parking Permits Available Online
Contractors, those with rental cars and new residents can now get permits online.
Somerville's Department of Traffic and Parking has expanded the lineup of parking permits that people can apply for online, according to an announcement from the city.
People can now process applications at the department's website for:
- New resident permits
- Rental vehicle permits
- Extended visitor passes
- Short-term visitor passes
- Contractor permits
Residential permits, standard visitor passes and "consideration" requests are also available online.
Consideration permits are for one-day events planned by residents. Let's say you're having a family reunion, you can request that the Department of Traffic and Parking not ticket near your house on that day. You can also buy small-event permits for $1 each, the website says.
