The weekend shutdowns will "inevitably hinder the businesses in Davis Square," Alderman At-Large Bruce Desmond said at the time.

According to The Tufts Daily, the MBTA met with the Monday to discuss the advertising discounts, and the Chamber will work on a proposal to "solicit local businesses to advertise on rail and buses," the university paper says.
