Hubway, the popular bike sharing program that launched in Boston last summer, is expanding into Somerville, Cambridge and Brookline this year, and according to Boston.com, stations could be up and running in Somerville by July.
There will be seven Hubway stations in Somerville, and one station in Porter Square, just on the boarder of Somerville and Cambridge.
On Facebook, the city of Somerville also noted there will also be a station in Charlestown near Sullivan Station, which will serve people in East Somerville. The city noted Broadway in East Somerville is about to undergo a two-year renovation, and after that's done the city hopes to attract Hubway stations to East Broadway.
There will be Hubway bike sharing stations in the following areas:
- Teele Square
- Davis Square
- Porter Square
- Conway Park
- Intersection of Washington and Beacon streets
- Union Square Plaza
- City Hall
