Art Exhibit Celebrates Disability Employment Awareness Month

Somerville celebrates National Disability Employment Awareness Month with art, music, poetry and food.

The city of Somerville is celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month on Oct. 23 with an art exhibit at City Hall, according to an announcement from the city.

The exhibit will feature work by artists at the Walnut Street Center and from students at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School. It will also feature a handmade quilt created by students from the Perkins School for the Blind, poetry and music.

There will be refreshments and an address by the chair of the Somerville Commission for Persons with Disabilities, the announcement says.

It's from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
